What is G.E.M. For Guyana?
G.E.M. for Guyana is a registered Canadian non-for-profit organization that facilitates the education of Guyanese girls and women, through providing scholarships and funds to cover costs relation to their education. Through your support and fundraising, we are able to provide these scholarships. Together, we are brightening the future of Guyana.

Secure Job Opportunities
As of 2017, less than 10% of Guyana’s workforce has a form of post secondary education. Supporting these recipients would ensure that they receive their post secondary education, and secure a stable job.
Changing Societal Norms
In many countries, including Guyana, women are often discouraged from going to school due to societal pressures, or monetary barriers. Supporting these recipients would encourage others to pursue further education, and break existing stereotypes.
Due to the costs relating to education, many girls who have a strong desire to attend there educational institution are unable to. Supporting these recipients would allow for them to obtain their education without a large financial burden.
